Transfusions (poem by Florin Caragiu, English translation: Corina Gina Papouis)

no matter how absurd it would seem,
many are waiting from you
some sort of forgiveness.

the face betrays the way pain
keeps you glued to their body –
a sign that you are the universal donor.

you may try and prove the opposite,
so what,
your own personal hell
is dreaming about it
and takes the shape of the cross
which created enough room for you to
undress from your mother

more and more people are
trying on your soul
and are sticking your words in their veins
like transfusion needles.

(poem published in the volume "Sentic", Vinea Publishing House, Bucharest, 2009, p. 12. English translation: Corina Gina Papouis)
